I thought you would enjoy these words by R.T. Kendall
Overcoming Self-Pity

Those I love have turned against me  ... I have escaped with only the skin of my teeth. Have pity on me, my friends, have pity, for the hand of God has struck me. —Job 19:19-21

Self-pity doesn't receive as much attention as some sins receive, and it doesn't cause the scandal that some sins cause.

For instance, everyone is interested to hear about a sexual sin because it causes such a scandal. But you can be overcome with self-pity, and it won't be as scandalous.

You may think that the devil only wants you to fall into sexual sin. Listen. The devil doesn't care how he gets hold of you, so if he can get hold of you by causing you to wallow in self-pity, he will do it.

How can we define self-pity? It is feeling sorry for oneself, and it is a self-justifying condition. It always seems right. The frightening thing about it is that sometimes we fail to recognize we are in this condition. Self-pity is acquired without any training or discipline. It is as natural to us as a pig wallowing in mire.  We seem to enjoy our own Pity Party.

The devil loves your self-pity, because once you start feeling sorry for yourself you will be no threat to him. He may leave you alone. He won't bring any other temptation into your life. He will say, "I've won with that person." He can now toy with you. If you stay in that condition, you are perilously close to self-destruction, and that's not just sin—that is gross, heinous sin. You are letting the archenemy of Jesus Christ have you where he wants you.

I will tell you where to begin to find your cure. You begin where Jesus ended His life on earth, at the cross. Until His last breath, He was being tempted to succumb to self-pity greater than any temptation you will ever know. Jesus couldn't even allow Himself a single instant of self-pity, because it is sin.

Jesus never sinned despite being tempted at all points as we are. He knows what you are feeling, and He understands. But you need to recognize what self-pity is and come to terms with the problem. You have to stop blaming others and admit that you have sinned before God.

DEEPEN YOUR INTIMACY IN GOD’S LOVE by Mike Bickle

The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the simple-hearted; when I was in great need, he saved me. Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. —Psalm 116:5-7

It was the Lord's idea to be gracious to us, not our own. He longs to be gracious far more than we long for Him to be. But that grace must establish His relationship with us, not undermine it.

Therefore He will not release it in fullness until He hears the great heart cry of His people, signifying our readiness. Though He will release a certain administration of grace no matter what, He's looking forward to giving more than that introductory dimension of the kingdom of God. He convinces us of what is in His heart as we cry out to Him day after day.

We do not “Earn” anything by crying out. We cannot sing or shout and “Earn Power.“

Rather, the Lord's plan is that when we lift our voices to Him, our hearts become receptive and connected to Him.

When that happens, we enter a realm where God's blessing and grace actually establish and enhance intimacy with God instead of diminishing it.

The process of prayer has surprised, tenderized, and drawn us into intimacy with Him.

{ PRAYER STARTER }

Lord, my heart cries out with a desire to experience the fullness of Your glory. Let me abide with You in the spiritual realm of blessing and grace and experience a deeper relationship with You.

Although Maria B. Woodworth-Etter was Ill, she ministered to others
Serving God Through Illness  by R.T. Kendall

As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you. —Galatians 4:13

I turn now to illness and the possibility of service. That means going to work and also doing something for God. After all, there are some people who are chronically ill and work forty hours a week.

Others have problems far more serious; some are bedridden, and others are housebound but can still cope. Obviously Paul, who had an eye problem, kept going since it was because of that reason that he came to the Galatians. God can cause your illness to coalesce with an event, situation, or place wherein you would think, I am actually glad I had that illness, otherwise this wouldn't have happened!

God may use you in His service because of an illness. He may turn you into one of the great intercessors of history. This, therefore, brings me to the subject of illness and spirituality.

We are back to that word intimacy. God wants your company; He loves your company. "Me? I can't preach. I can't play a guitar. I can't compose hymns. He wants me?" Yes. The most insignificant person whom no one has time for, God wants. If this chronic illness is not going to go away, why don't you just say, "Lord, show me what You want"?

You might enjoy a few words by Victoria Boyson.  STOP and WIN

Don't answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are. Proverbs 26:4 NLT

When we argue with fools (those who are blind to the truth) we end up looking like fools; truly we make ourselves the greater fool.

It is far too easy to fall into a trap when someone reaches your personal point of contention or they've tipped your sacred cow. What makes your blood boil?

How easy it is to forget the battle we face is not of this world. Indeed, we are in a battle every day with unseen forces who desire to take advantage of any person or situation.

Are we letting the world set the agenda for us? Are we to mirror the world's hostility, or display the love of Christ?

For, "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are My disciples" (John 13:35 NLT).

We say what Holy Spirit tells us to say, we do what He tells us to do, and pray what He tells us to pray. We take authority over the powers of darkness, and we will win. Our battle in the spirit realm, with Holy Spirit's help, is an extremely one-sided battle.

Proverbs 3:5-7 (NLT): "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Don't be impressed with your own wisdom..."

I thought you might enjoy these few words by Rod Parsley
Bury Your Past and Refuse to Dig it back Up
Put Your Past Behind You - by Rod Parsley

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 3:13-14

Many people need to be delivered from the skeletons of their past. "Those things which are behind" may include failed marriages, broken promises, failures, disappointments, setbacks, and betrayals.

You can be standing waist high in ocean water and watch as water begins to ebb quietly away from you-.-.-.-then the force of the wave begins to increase, propelling you forward.

Just as the tide pulls the water back, forming a wave of power, God draws you to Himself.

Don't fight against God's pulling and tugging at your spirit. Allow yourself to be drawn to Him and enveloped in His presence. Trust Him with your very life, and He will propel you forward into your destiny.

Put all of your past behind you. Bury it under His mercy and grace. Refuse to dig it up again or to listen to the old, tired accusations of the devil.

Jesus, give me the strength to look forward and not look back.
Keep me from dredging up my past sin which You have
already forgiven and forgotten. Keep my
heart fixed on You. Amen.
